  • The Taurus LY500GP auto-darkening helmet protects eyes, face, neck and ears from welding-spatter residue and grinding particles. Of particular value is eye and face protection against ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) radiation. The auto-darkening system is the result of the electronically adjustable shade on a DIN scale from 9 to 13. The scale adjuster can be switched off allowing protection from debris during a grinding operation. The darkening system is operated by a solar rechargeable Lithium battery. The switching time between arc and darkening is 1/25000s. The fabrication material for the shell has a soft, semi-flexible and flame-retardant texture with high strength and durability. The Taurus helmet’s design is based on an international ergonomic style with ample air space for cooler wear and comfortable fit.
